What are the responsibilities and job description for the GENERAL MANAGER - The Aviary position at The Aviary Restaurant?
The Aviary General Manager will oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, which is an independently owned, 130 seat upscale restaurant. The Aviary is located on the same property as its sister restaurant, The Rookery, which is a casual pub style restaurant with private event spaces.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and support FOH and BOH staff.
- Communicate and coordinate all aspects of operations and guest experiences with Chefs, managers, staff and owner.
- Coordinate when needed with staff of The Rookery.
- Ensure guests receive exceptional service and a positive experience.
- Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and management of all employees.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for food, beverages and supplies.
- Be able to manage schedules to ensure proper labor cost controls.
- Uphold company policies and procedures.
- Oversee cleanliness, food safety and health regulations are being adhered to.
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant management experience.
- Understanding of all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Leadership skills to ensure team building and employee retention.
- Excellent problem solving and independent decision making skills.
- Experience with POS systems, payroll, inventory control, ordering and employee scheduling.
- Managing budgets, labor costs, inventory, food cost controls, etc.
