Shipping Driver/Receiving Clerk

Overview

Summary: Manages all company pickups and deliveries in provided vehicle by performing the following duties.

• Utilizes forklift to load, unload, move, and stack materials in a safe manner.
• Ensures load in vehicle is secure.
• Prioritizes daily schedule utilizing the best route with the most efficient company provided vehicle.
• Understands packaging standards to ensure safe transit of product.
• Obtains proof of delivery.
• Communicates with other departments regarding special shipping needs, quantity discrepancies or concerns of safe transit.
• Verifies and compares manifest to actual box count and ensuring correct delivery location.
• Recognizes damaged material and relay information to the quality department.
• Collects provided payment for goods and services.
• Picks up supplies.
• Requests maintenance on company fleet while maintaining safety check sheet.
• Ensures all receipts for purchases are delivered to the accounting department.
• Assists other areas of the department during down time.
• Assists with the internal transportation of product.
• Navigates a fast paced environment with extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
• Responsible for the quality of their work and implementation of the quality policy.
• Ensures that document and digital data control is in compliance with AS9100 guidelines.
• Authorizes to stop any production order for quality concerns.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Forklift certification

• 20 ft. Box Truck
• 24ft Flatbed
• 26ft. Box truck

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
