Position SummaryThe Athletic Trainer is responsible for delivering exceptional sports medicine services within TheATRoom clinic while also serving as the medical provider for assigned athletic programs throughout Westchester County.

Each Athletic Trainer will be assigned one or more partner organizations while maintaining scheduled clinical hours at TheATRoom.
This position averages 30–40 hours per week, with a combination of daytime clinic hours and evening/weekend athletic coverage.
Primary ResponsibilitiesClinical Services (In-Clinic)Provide evidence-based sports medicine care including:
- Orthopedic injury evaluations
- Acute injury management
- Rehabilitation programming
- Therapeutic exercise progression
- Manual therapy techniques
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Functional movement assessments
- Return-to-play testing
- Recovery Room treatments
- Compression therapy
- Percussion therapy
- Mobility recovery
- Recovery programming
- Patient education
- Home exercise program development
- Documentation utilizing the clinic EMR
- Communication with physicians and healthcare providers
- Assist with insurance-supported treatment plans
Serve as the assigned Athletic Trainer for partner organizations including several high schools and Universities in the Westchester area.
Responsibilities include:
- Practice coverage
- Home game coverage
- Injury evaluations
- Emergency injury management
- Concussion recognition and management
- Taping and bracing
- Return-to-play decision making
- Physician referrals
- Communication with coaches, parents, physicians, and administrators
- Injury documentation
- Emergency Action Plan implementation
- Medical supply management
- Athlete education regarding injury prevention and recovery
As part of TheATRoom's College Experience Program, Athletic Trainers will:
- Represent TheATRoom professionally at partner institutions
- Build positive relationships with coaches and administrators
- Promote athlete wellness and injury prevention
- Maintain consistent communication with assigned organizations
- Provide a Division I-level sports medicine experience for every athlete
- Assist in growing and strengthening community partnerships
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
- New York State Athletic Training License
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong clinical decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Reliable transportation for outreach assignments
- Evening and weekend availability
Preferred:
- 1–3 years of athletic training experience
- Experience with high school or collegiate athletics
- Experience with rehabilitation programming
- Manual therapy experience
- Knowledge of return-to-sport testing
- EMR documentation experience
