What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher STEM position at The ASTA Group, LLC?
The ASTA Group (ASTA) is seeking a short-term Elementary Teacher for 8-12 weeks (maybe longer) to support a STEM Education program at Hanscom AFB, MA. The hours are 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.
The STARBASE STEM Academy is a DoD sponsored program for at risk 5th graders and its mission is to encourage young students to explore their horizons and realize their potential in STEM exploration and career opportunities.
Qualifications: You must be a credentialed Elementary Teacher and have a CORI certification that is required to teach children in MA. If your CORI has expired we will reimburse you the cost of obtaining your renewal.
The ideal candidate will have experience with 5th grade or higher level of STEM instruction and a Bachelors degree in a STEM related field. Also, proficiency with technology is important as is familiarity with MS Office applications. Military instructors or spouses with BA or BS degree in a STEM related discipline are also encouraged to apply.
The STARBASE program is nationwide and has been active at Hanscom AFB for over 15 years. It is a unique hands on training and not only fun and interesting for the students but for the teaching staff as well.
