- Employment Type: Full-Time 30-40 hrs/wk
- Schedule: Flexible based on client needs (may include evenings/weekends)
- Pay: Starting at $17.80 per/hr with credit given for experience included on your application

**Position Summary**
The Direct Support Professional (Life Coach I) provides direct support, guidance, and companionship to individuals in home and community settings. This role helps individuals build skills, achieve independence, and participate fully in their communities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Support individuals with daily living skills, social development, and independence
- Provide supervision and ensure safety in accordance with care plans
- Assist individuals in participating in community activities and building natural supports
- Use de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when needed
- Maintain respectful, professional relationships with individuals served
- Complete required documentation, service notes, and program records accurately and on time
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning
- Follow all company policies, confidentiality standards, and ethical practices
- Complete all required trainings
- Work a flexible schedule based on individual and program needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Alaska driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must have an insured vehicle
- Ability to pass required background checks
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health conditions
- Knowledge of behavioral support and de-escalation techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Willingness to learn and grow in direct support skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Frequent standing, walking, and assisting individuals
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to respond to crisis situations, including verbal or physical de-escalation
