Reporting to the COO, this is a newly created role designed to enable the continued growth and scale of TAG’s global business and operations footprint, provide legal counsel on a diverse array of topics, and manage legal risks to the organization. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled attorney to engage with diverse legal matters, collaborate across teams, and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and will bring expertise in commercial contracts, compliance, intellectual property and data privacy, and corporate governance. TAG provides competitive benefits with regular training opportunities available to its employees. For this role, TAG offers a salary of $180,000–$220,000 with eligibility for a discretionary end-of-year bonus.

Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive in.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of legal experience with a focus on commercial and business operations matters.
- Strong contracts background with exposure to regulatory, governance, and compliance matters; comfort working across multiple legal domains.
- Experience managing outside counsel relationships.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills; able to move quickly on routine matters while applying sound judgment to more complex issues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working directly with senior leadership and practice teams.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and are expected to work in-person at the TAG Washington, DC office
- Candidates must be comfortable working across multiple time zones.
- Combination of law firm and in-house experience.
- Experience coordinating with international legal staff.
- International mindset and interest in working across cultures, particularly in the Indo-Pacific or Gulf regions.
- Demonstrated experience or in-depth knowledge of AI-assisted legal workflows
- Serve as the firm's primary legal intake and triage point — assessing incoming matters quickly, handling routine issues directly, and routing specialized issues to legal staff in TAG’s Global Center of Excellence (GCE) or outside counsel as appropriate.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including client consulting contracts, MSAs, SOWs, partnership agreements, and SaaS agreements.
- Oversee TAG's global corporate compliance program — including policy development, company-wide legal ethics training, and monitoring.
- Manage corporate governance issues, including liaising with the Board of Directors, and draft Board Resolutions.
- Advise on legal issues related to stock options, the issuance of equity, and investor transactions.
- Coordinate all compliance-related matters and statutory filings across TAG and its subsidiaries.
- Research and advise on legal ethics issues related to the Lobbying Disclosure Act and the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
- Manage immigration and work authorization matters for TAG personnel in coordination with HR.
- Support IP protection strategy, including trademark registration and data privacy matters.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with TAG's outside counsel — briefing counsel efficiently, tracking matter status, and controlling outside spend.
- Establish and maintain escalation protocols and materiality thresholds for matters requiring COO or President and/or CEO involvement.
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of TAG's AI agent for routine legal workflows including contract review, NDA drafting, and compliance research.
- May be assigned special projects or other duties as needed according to business needs.
