Summary
The Ash Group is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer for our client, a premier network integrator and provider of next-generation, multi-vendor "Factory Built Networks®" and optical domain control software. This is a full-time position working in Richardson, TX (Onsite) offering a salary around 125-130K plus commission based on skillset.
Role Details
- Compensation: Around 125-130K plus commission
- Location: Richardson, TX preferred (Onsite) but open to New York Tri-State area, Washington D.C./Northern Virginia (No VA), Dallas–Fort Worth, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle/Bellevue, Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Austin, Los Angeles, Denver/Boulder, Boston, Columbus, OH, Portland (Hillsboro), and Raleigh–Durham
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead technical discussions with customers, translating business needs into technical solutions and guiding them through design decisions with clarity and confidence.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering unbiased consultation across multiple vendor solutions to ensure the best technical and business fit.
- Take ownership of the planning, design, and operation of customer transport networks.
- Work with sales teams to design and develop winning and profitable solutions.
- Validate customer requests and requirements for network hardware, software, and functionality.
- Participate in sales discussions over audio/web conferences or in live meetings.
- Lead and architect complex, multi-vendor optical network designs, ensuring alignment with customer technical, operational, and business strategies.
What We’re Looking For
- Must have 5 years sales engineering experience required; 8 preferred
- Strong optical transport/networking expertise is a must
- Experience designing complex optical networks (long-haul, single/multi-span networks) is required
- Experience with major vendors, especially: Ciena, Nokia, Infinera, SmartOptics and Adtran/Onefinity
- Experience with: Ciena 6500 and Nokia 1830 (preferred)
- OEM/vendor-side experience highly preferred
- Ability to discuss different fiber types and optical solutions
- Experience supporting utilities, vendors, and hyperscaler customers
