About the Role
ASG is seeking an experienced Business Analyst (2–4 years) to support and help lead analytical workstreams within our data center consulting practice. This role is suited for someone with strong business intelligence capabilities, sector research experience, and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear insights for clients. The Analyst will contribute to—and in some cases own—market analyses, site selection assessments, infrastructure comps, and strategic reports for hyperscale, enterprise, and digital infrastructure clients.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Desktop Studies:
- Lead or co-lead region-specific research on power availability, utility landscapes, fiber infrastructure, market activity, regulatory environments, and competitive dynamics.
Data Center Market Analysis:
- Conduct deep-dive analysis into demand/supply conditions, new builds, pricing trends, power markets, sustainability drivers, and regional growth indicators.
Infrastructure & Market Comps:
- Develop comparative frameworks for markets, sites, energy pricing, latency routes, land valuations, tax incentives, and other relevant factors.
Data Modeling & Synthesis:
- Support development of forecast models, infrastructure scoring tools, and analytical dashboards (Excel or BI tools).
- Summarize findings into executive-ready deliverables.
Client & Project Support:
- Participate in client calls, provide structured research summaries, help manage timelines, and contribute to strategic recommendations.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior consultants, engineering partners, and market subject-matter experts to integrate findings into client proposals and reports.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates with degree(s) in business, economics, real estate, engineering, energy, data analytics, or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
- 2–4 years of analytical, consulting, research, or strategy experience, preferably in data centers, energy markets, digital infrastructure, commercial real estate, or technology industries.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency; comfort with datasets, modeling structures, benchmarks, and dashboards. HubSpot/CRM experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest or exposure to data center development, power markets, fiber networks, or digital infrastructure is highly preferred.
Work Environment
- Hybrid with preference for candidates in the Washington, DC metro area for occasional in-person team working sessions.
- Ad hoc travel for site visits or industry events.
