We currently operate 12 cannabis retail and 2 lounge locations throughout California and are opening additional locations in 2026. The Artist Tree was the first recreational cannabis store to open in Fresno, West Hollywood, Oxnard, Riverside County, and Los Angeles. Each location functions as a hybrid between an art gallery and cannabis boutique, featuring exhibits from local artists. Position Summary
Guides are essential to The Artist Tree team! You are responsible for curating our guest experience by providing a friendly, informed guidance to customers. They will further the creative and communal goals of the company while adhering to company procedures and cannabis regulations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities as a Guide include but are not limited to:
- Cheerfully guide guests through product selection process to meet their personal needs
- Build rapport with customers and foster approachable and welcoming store environment
- Help cultivate repeat customer base through brand loyalty program and data retention
- Possess strong product knowledge and understanding of cannabis use and effects
- Effectively communicate the safe use of our products
- Process all cash and charge transactions according to house procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized store
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
Essential Functions and Responsibilities when at the Front Desk include but are not limited to:
- Warmly greets all guests – Greeting guests by name whenever possible
- Engage with customers to build rapport
- Familiar with CA laws for entry to ensure all guests meet requirements
- Create customer profiles, collecting all data necessary
- Clean and maintain the front desk and the ordering kiosks
- Assist in answering phones call
- Maintain visitor log
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
Experience/Knowledge/Education:
- Previous one or more years’ experience as gardener/cultivation expert
- Basic knowledge of state and local compliance laws preferred
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements:
- Must be 21 or older
- English speaking or bilingual
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments
- Dependable
- Reliable transportation
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting and carrying
- Reaching above, at and below shoulder level
- Lifting and carrying unassisted up to 30 lbs. of bulk goods
