What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gallery Operations Director position at The Art Villain Gallery & Consignment?
The role as a Gallery Operations Director would require you to assist with gallery functions and operations above and beyond regular gallery assistance. In addition, you’ll need to be comfortable working with google suite and Microsoft services. Also be able to adapt to and successfully operate our point of sales system through Chase if asked. This role is exclusively part-time with irregular hours and days a week. You will be hired as an Independent Contractor and have a flexible working schedule and/or working from home. Salary begins at $32 an hour and can be negotiated based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Catalogue and keep track of gallery inventory
- Handle sales and directly interact with potential buyers
- Respond to emails and calls from customers
- Aid with social media and marketing
- Oversee gallery website and other website building platforms including Squarespace and GoDaddy
Important Qualifications:
- Has high school diploma or GED
- Experience in sales or retail mandatory
- Comfortable navigating Google and Microsoft Office
- Ability to move and lift heavy art pieces
- Strong interest in art and history
- Excellent communication skills
