Pharmacist - Inpatient PT/PRN

Currently recruiting a PT/PRN Pharmacist - Inpatient for Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC) located on Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. The Pharmacist - Inpatient will perform a full range of pharmaceutical services at Eisenhower Army Medical Center (EAMC) on Fort Gordon, Georgia. Pharmacists are to provide services in an inpatient setting at DDEAMC. The work schedule for pharmacists working DDEAMC Inpatient Pharmacy covers a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays. Duty hours are variable, shift starting times are typically between 0630 and 0930, 1200 and 1500, or 1800 and 1900, lasting for eight-and-a-half-hours. Shift times may vary based on the needs of the mission.

Job Responsibilities of the Pharmacist - Inpatient:

• Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.
• Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
• Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.
• Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancy of above listed items.
• Compound medications as required.
• Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
• Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security.
• Maintain appropriate records of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.
• Dispense prescribed medications and provide information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects.
• Evaluate medication patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care settings.
• Research medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries.
• Ensure medication handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications are followed.

Job Qualifications of the Pharmacist - Inpatient:

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a clinical pharmacist.
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, recognized by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
• Minimum of one year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the past two years post-graduation.
• Certified in BLS for Healthcare Providers.
