What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diagnostic Imaging Technologist - MRI position at The Arora Group?
Currently recruiting a DIT MRI to provide diagnostic imaging, mri services at Andrews Medical Group, Joint Base Andrews in Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Monday through Friday, 7: 30 a.M. To 4: 30 p.M., with a one-hour lunch, excluding federal holidays. This role supports mission-driven health care for eligible military and federal healthcare beneficiaries.
DUTIES OF THE DIT MRI:
- Performs a variety of MRI/MRA scans of the body in accordance with department protocols and supervising radiologist directions.
- Ensure patients are properly screened for safety concerns and/or contraindications for MRI exams. Reports concern supervising radiologists or requested health care provider.
- Ensure proper preventive and corrective maintenance for the MRI scanning unit.
- Report any patient's need of immediate medical attention. Findings from emergency responses shall be immediately reported to the officer in charge of the MR Imaging facility or his authorized representative.
- Attend and participate in all meetings, staff conferences, and other appropriate professional activities as required by the supervisor.
- Shall assure that all MRI scans are performed in accordance with established protocols and only upon the order of a person who is lawfully authorized to diagnose, treat, and prescribe. Any ambiguous procedures or requisitions will be referred to by the director of the MRI facility.
- Shall respect a patient's right to refuse the examination. If the patient does not want the procedure performed, the patient's wish shall be respected and the incident logged in the scanner logbook and brought to the attention of the attending radiologist.
- Scheduling MRI / MRA exams and the administrative / clerical functions that are included.
- Clerical work is required for general day-to-day function of the MRI department.
- Assist with training new personnel or members with less than 2 years'experience but not limited to:
- a\. Basic machine and computer console functions
- b\. Patient preparation and setup
- c\. MRI/MRA scans of the body IAW department protocols and supervising radiologist directions
- d\. Scheduling of MRI / MRA exams
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The specialty identified in the Task Order
- Licensure: Current registration as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist, Radiologic Technologist or Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) (ARMRIT authorized after 21 Feb 17).
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years, on MR imaging with any form of MRI equipment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen for access to U.S. Government networks.
- Must provide documentation of applicable occupational-health testing or physical examination, required immunizations and annual vaccinations, and tuberculosis screening.
- Must use N95 respiratory protection when required for patient care and complete respirator fit testing and training within 30 days after in-processing and annually thereafter.
- Must complete applicable government security inquiry, qualifying or credentialing documentation, staff orientation, HIPAA training, MHS GENESIS training, and other required agency training.
