Description
The Commercial Asset Operations Manager will manage all commercial client assets & inventory coming in and out of our warehouses. The tracking, reporting and billing of all inventory & assets coming in & out and stored in our warehouses is done utilizing our WMS software and specialty customer software.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory of trucks, trailers, moving equipment, and commercial assets, ensuring maintenance schedules and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Oversee acquisition, deployment, utilization, and retirement of assets to maximize cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Develop strategies for optimal allocation of assets across projects and locations, tracking usage and downtime for improvements.
- Partner with dispatch and operations to ensure equipment availability for scheduled moves and projects.
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for leasing, purchasing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards, collaborating with the Safety Department as needed.
- Maintain accurate asset records, service schedules, costs, and performance reporting for leadership review.
- Supervise asset coordinators, maintenance staff, or contractors as assigned, providing training and leadership.
- Promote Armstrong DNA by leading through example in safety, integrity, and service excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in operations, fleet management, or logistics (moving/relocation industry experience a plus).
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and commercial fleet compliance.
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in asset management or fleet tracking software.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
