Job Description:
As a Purchasing Agent at TAG, you will play a pivotal role in helping manage our procurement processes and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. Working closely with the Buyer your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and pricing on raw materials used in manufacturing process.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze supplier proposals, review pricing trends, and assess supplier performance to optimize procurement strategies.
- Order Processing: Create purchase orders, monitor order status, and coordinate with various departments to ensure on-time delivery of goods.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased items meet the required standards.
- Budget Management: Work closely with finance teams to manage budgets and control costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Compliance: Stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement and ensure company compliance.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of industry trends and supply chain management best practices.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of manufacturing and inventory system management - MRP software experience preferred
- Understanding of transportation/logistics operations – landed cost/incoterms
- Understanding of contract law and purchasing regulations
- Basic blueprint reading
