The ARM Group is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney for one of our clients in Buffalo, NY.


Role


This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong background in employment-based immigration, including extensive experience with PERM Labor Certifications, while also possessing experience in family-based immigration matters.

The successful candidate will advise and represent both corporate and individual clients on a broad range of U.S. immigration matters. This is a client-focused, detail-oriented role involving the preparation and management of complex immigration cases from initial consultation through final adjudication.


No billable hour requirement.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct client consultations and manage new case intake.
  • Prepare and file employment-based immigrant visa petitions, including:
  • PERM Labor Certifications
  • EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 petitions
  • Form I-140 petitions
  • Prepare and manage business-based nonimmigrant visa petitions, including:
  • H-1B
  • L-1
  • TN
  • E Visa classifications
  • O-1 petitions
  • Advise employers on Form I-9 compliance, E-Verify requirements, and employment eligibility verification.
  • Represent corporate and individual clients throughout the immigration process.
  • Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on routine and complex immigration matters with minimal supervision.
  • Review and finalize petitions, applications, and supporting documentation prepared by paralegals and legal support staff.
  • Serve as the primary attorney responsible for final case review prior to filing.
  • Accompany clients to USCIS interviews when required.
  • Conduct legal research and remain current on changes in immigration laws, regulations, agency guidance, and policy developments.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy, timelines, and updates.
  • Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment while managing multiple deadlines and priorities.


Required Qualifications


  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of any U.S. State Bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience handling employment-based immigration matters, including substantial PERM Labor Certification experience.
  • Strong experience preparing employment-based immigrant petitions, including EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 classifications.
  • Experience handling business immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1 petitions.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and analyze new legal developments and apply them effectively.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience handling family-based immigration matters, including adjustment of status, family petitions, consular processing, and naturalization.
  • Experience advising employers on immigration compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software such as INSZoom, LawLogix, Docketwise, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to travel to Canada for business meetings, conferences, client meetings, and other firm-related events as required.
