Duties
- Work collaboratively with an assistant teacher to plan and implement curriculum activities and lesson plans that promote children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Plan appropriate pre-writing, pre-reading and pre-math activities for transition to Kindergarten.
- Organize and lead daily classroom activities that promote curiosity, creativity, teamwork, problem solving skills and active engagement among preschool-aged children.
- Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Supervise students at all times (in and out of the classroom, in the hall, on the playground, etc.) to assure safety, health and welfare of students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe, respectful and nurturing environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that reflects the children's work and interests.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff to support each child's educational journey.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
