Job Title: Youth Sports Instructor (Ages 3-5)
Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, patient, and enthusiastic Sports Instructor to lead fun, age-appropriate sports and movement activities for young children. The instructor will introduce basic sports skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured, play-based sports and movement classes for children ages 3 – 5.
- Teach fundamental motor skills (running, jumping, throwing, kicking, balance, coordination)
- Introduce basic rules and concepts of sports such as soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and general fitness games
- Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
- Ensure the safety of children at all times and follow established safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding class activities and child progress
- Set up and clean up equipment before and after classes
- Maintain attendance records and report any incidents or concerns to supervisors
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children (teaching, coaching, childcare, or recreation)
- Passion for youth sports, fitness, and child development; specific to soccer, lacrosse or basketball.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage small groups of children with patience and positivity
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check clearance (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in education, kinesiology, child development, or related field
- Coaching or teaching certification thru college experience or previous employment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate basic sports movements
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and move actively for class duration
- Ability to lift and carry light equipment
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time / flexible hours (weekend availability).
- Competitive pay per class based on experience.
