Campus Monitor

The Archer School for Girls is currently seeking a full-time Campus Monitor.

The Campus Monitor is responsible for supporting the safety and security of the school community, including faculty, staff, students and guests. Campus Monitors work as part of the Facilities & Operations team, reporting to the Campus Monitor Lead and under the supervision of the Director of Security and Transportation and Director of Facilities and Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include:

·        Consistently employ vigilance and situational awareness to identify and address potential threats to student safety.

·        Monitor all arrivals, departures, traffic flows and staging of vehicles to/from campus, including vehicles, buses, and pedestrians.

·        Serve as part of a rotating team of crossing guards within campus and at the intersection of Barrington Ave. and Sunset Blvd.

·        Perform opening and closing procedures in accordance with established protocols.

·        Respond to alarms and incidents by investigating, assessing, and providing aid (if needed).

·        Maintain consistent, frequent, clear, and professional communication with colleagues and supervisors.

·        Prepare detailed written reports such as incident reports, pass downs, logs, etc.

·        Complete guest background screening in accordance with established visitor protocols.

·        May be called upon to work overtime with/without notice to support school events and/or address emergency situations.

·        Participate in leading campus communities through emergency drills and/or actual emergencies.

·        Other duties as assigned. Specifically on days when there are no students on campus, campus monitors assist with facilities projects and other operational needs under the direction of the Director of Facilities & Operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·        Excellent communication skills - written and verbal - with a demonstrated capability to maintain strong professional customer service relationships with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to communicate effectively with students, board members, parents, guests, faculty/staff, vendors, etc. and adjust communication style accordingly.

·        Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow team members.

·        Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

·        Ability to withstand weather conditions such as rain, sun, heat, cold, and wind. This position serves predominantly outdoors.

·        Ability to spend extended periods of time walking/standing.

·        Ability to comply with physical requirements; full range of motion with both hands and arms, ability to climb stairs, ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

·        Basic computer proficiency required: email, iPhone, Mac laptops, Google suite of applications, and other applications as needed.

·        Available to work a flexible schedule to include day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts based on the school calendar. This position will require you to work at least one weekend per month while school is in session.

Required Education & Experience:

·        Current BSIS Guard Card Certification

·        High School diploma or equivalent

·        Minimum two (2) years’ customer service experience working in schools is preferred but not required.

·        Experience working in law enforcement or security preferred, but not required

·        Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but not required

·        Upon offer of employment, must successfully pass a background check.

Salary Range: $22.00 to 26.00 per hour
