ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING (ADON)
Job Summary
The Arc Westchester, a leading non-profit social service agency in the Westchester County, NY has a leadership opportunity available for an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for the oversight of the nursing operations of the IRAs, and ICFs in conjunction with the Director of Nursing at The Arc Westchester. This leadership role involves providing direct support to the nursing staff promoting high quality patient care and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of nursing services. The ADON assists the Director of Nursing in the strategic planning, organization, administrative support and execution of nursing services, while maintaining compliance with the regulatory and accreditation standards. They will assist with overseeing the nursing team, systems development, and performance management, filling in for the Director of Nursing in their absence.
Responsibilities include writing, evaluating and recommending improvement of current health related practices and policies. This position also coordinates, supervises and provides training to nursing staff and is a resource to the agency regarding healthcare and wellness issues.
Job Requirements and Skills
- Must have a NYS license as a Professional Registered Nurse;
- Requires an education and a diploma or degree in professional nursing, Bachelor’s degree in Professional Nursing preferred.
- At least two years of nursing supervisory experience.
- NYS driver's license.
- Excellent clinical skills including nursing assessment and documentation.
- Ability to train, supervise, mentor and evaluate professional nursing staff.
- Ability to orient, coach and mentor new Medical Direct Support Professionals
- Ability to work effectively and safely with medically and psychiatrically complex adults with I/DD and people on the Autistic Spectrum
- Strong computer skills, ability to do electronic communications and electronic medical records to document care and communicate with other professionals.
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 to $125,000 per year
