What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Development Trainer position at The Arc Tampa Bay?
***Please note, this job is for a certified trainer to train all of our Direct Support Staff in classes required by APD to care for the individuals with I/DD that live in our group homes and attend our programs here at The Arc Tampa Bay. (Trainer ideally will already be a Certified CPR/First Aid Instructor, a QBS Safety Care Certified Trainer, and have extensive knowledge of The TRAIN Florida website in regards to The APD training courses therein.
Are you organized, people-focused, and passionate about helping others learn and grow? The Arc Tampa Bay is looking for an Agency Learning Coordinator to join our Human Resources team and help shape training and education to new and current employees across the agency.
In this role, you’ll coordinate and deliver staff trainings, manage e-learning, keep training records audit-ready, and support both internal teams and community education efforts. You’ll work closely with leadership to develop training content, publish monthly training calendars, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. A familiarity with The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) requirements is a strong plus! Also, being a certified trainer in CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, 65g8, BBP all a strong plus! Use and knowledge of The TRAIN Florida site also needed!
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate required trainings such as Orientation, First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Intervention
- Assign and track e-learning modules
- Organize and maintain training records and personnel file compliance (electronically)
- Develop and coordinate in-service trainings for day and residential programs
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to pass a Level II background screening
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Video editing and social media skills are a bonus
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain trainer certifications (or already have them! ASHI and QBS)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and use hands frequently
