What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residence Counselor position at The Arc Oneida-Lewis?
What does a Residence Counselor do?
This position will be working closely with the residents of the Arc Houses all over the Oneida county area: Barneveld, Clinton, Oriskany Falls, Sauquoit, Rome, Utica. You will be assisting them with all their personal care and oral hygiene such as showering, dressing, cooking, cleaning, toileting as well as transporting them to appointments and outings. Working with them on daily skills to improve their quality of life and allow them to be as independent as possible.
Pay Rate
- The salary is $16.50/hour.
- With a sign-on bonus of $1,000 paid within your first year of employment.
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Driver's License (Required)
- Must have a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day implementation of assigned person we support's ISP utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in the community.
- Always ensuring supervision of assigned persons.
- Promote and follow person driven choices in independence, individualization, inclusion, and productivity.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the person we support, working with the person and other team members to help determine and achieve valued outcomes for the individuals.
- Assist with other household and day to day tasks regarding the people we support or the site when asked of you.
