As a Direct Support Professional, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. You will provide hands-on support in a residential setting, helping individuals build daily living skills, participate in their community, and achieve their personal goals.

What You Will Do
Support and Empower Individuals
- Assist with daily living skills such as personal care, hygiene, cooking, and household routines
- Encourage independence, social development, and community involvement
- Promote dignity, choice, and respect in all interactions
Ensure Health, Safety, and Well-Being
- Follow policies to ensure individuals’ health, safety, and protection
- Administer medications and treatments as trained and certified
- Monitor and report changes in health or behavior
- Assist with medical appointments and transportation
Provide Quality Care and Maintain a Safe Home
- Follow individualized service plans and complete required documentation
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records
- Assist with meal preparation, housekeeping, and daily routines
- Support participation in activities, appointments, and community outings
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid New York State Driver’s License
- Ability to drive an agency vehicle
- Ability to obtain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
