About the Role
As a Community Recreation Coach, you'll bring fun, connection, and meaningful experiences to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll plan and lead recreational activities in the community and at agency sites, helping people build skills, friendships, and confidence-all while ensuring safety and dignity.
What You'll Do
- Plan and lead activities: Organize outings like bowling, arts and crafts, fitness classes, or community events.
- Create monthly calendars: Research local opportunities and share schedules with families and participants.
- Provide direct support: Supervise individuals during activities and assist with daily living tasks when needed.
- Coordinate logistics: Manage petty cash, supplies, and transportation arrangements for programs.
- Support habilitation goals: Help individuals learn skills for independence, including mobility training and community access.
- Document everything: Complete accurate daily notes, attendance, and billing documentation in agency systems.
- Communicate and collaborate: Work with families, staff, and volunteers to ensure smooth program operations.
- Be flexible: Adapt to different settings and needs-every day brings new opportunities to make a difference!

- Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, reaching).
- Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation.
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities (1-3 years).
- Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry).
- Willing to complete certifications like First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration
Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Flexible days and evenings (must work at least 2 evenings per week)
