The Driver position provides safe and reliable transportation to various programs and clients of The Arc of the Ozarks. The Shuttle Bus Driver may operate a car, van or most frequently, a shuttle bus. The Shuttle Bus Driver is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Essential Job Functions
Safely transports various clients and employees of The Arc of the Ozarks.
May transport clients and employees using a van or shuttle bus.
As instructed by supervisor, waits for clients and/or students to be completed with outing for a timely, safe return.
Plan driving route to ensure most safe and economical use of time and resources.
Perform all duties in compliance with appropriate safety and security standards and all applicable laws and statutes.
Perform routine inspection and identify needed preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
Assist Maintenance department in checking vehicle fleet for needed maintenance including but not limited to – tire pressure and tread, oil level, coolant level.
Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections for the purpose of ensuring the safe operating condition of the vehicle.
This is a part time position that requires flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of clients and/or students.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
Ability to work with and respect persons with disabilities.
Ability to work varied and flexible hours and to accept and adapt to changes in
assignments, methods, policies, etc.
Ability to communicate verbally and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to maintain a satisfactory record of punctuality and attendance.
Ability to stand, stoop, lift up to 30 lbs, and pull and push items on an intermittent basis.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred. At least 1 year previous experience operating a car, van or bus for hire. Must have an acceptable driving record and possess a valid CDL license.
