What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Transition Program Supervisor position at The Arc of Ocean County?
We are seeking a dedicated and organized professional to oversee and support transition programming for students with visual impairments. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in program operations, staff supervision, student support, and stakeholder collaboration while promoting independence, career readiness, and successful post-secondary outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of transition and summer programming, including curriculum coordination, scheduling, and student support services.
- Provide guidance and support to students with visual impairments, including promoting independence, accessibility, and college/career readiness skills.
- Supervise program staff and mentors through regular meetings, feedback, and review of documentation and student progress.
- Collaborate with students to develop and monitor Career-Focused Placement Plans (CFPPs) and employment-related goals.
- Coordinate workshops, events, transportation, and parent engagement activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, billing, and program data in compliance with agency and state requirements.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, CBVI representatives, and community partners to support successful program outcomes.
- Review program performance and implement improvements to enhance program effectiveness.
- High School Diploma or GED required, with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
- Previous experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a transition, educational, vocational, or related setting preferred.
- Experience with program coordination, staff supervision, and student support services.
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain all required state and federal background checks, including criminal history, Central Registry, and CARI checks, as well as all required pre-employment and ongoing drug screenings.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, Google Workspace, and other computer applications; familiarity with assistive technology preferred.
