The Arc of Ocean County is seeking caring and reliable Overnight Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide overnight supervision and support within residential programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Ocean County.
This position is ideal for individuals who are responsible, attentive, and committed to ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment during overnight hours. Overnight DSPs play an essential role in maintaining continuity of care while assisting residents with their needs and preparing them for a successful start to the day.
Position Details- Schedule: Awake Overnight Shift | 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM
- Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
- Location: Ocean County, New Jersey
- Starting Pay: $20.70 per hour
- Earning Potential: Up to $24.70 per hour through applicable shift differentials and overtime opportunities
- Weekend availability required
Please Note: Staff assigned to overnight shifts are required to remain awake and actively engaged throughout the duration of the shift.
Essential Responsibilities- Provide continuous supervision and support during overnight hours to ensure resident safety and well-being.
- Complete required hourly status checks and timekeeping procedures.
- Respond appropriately to resident needs, emergencies, and unexpected situations.
- Assist individuals with morning routines, personal care, and preparation for daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe residential environment, including completion of housekeeping and household responsibilities.
- Monitor the condition of the residence and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly.
- Support residents with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, laundry, and household tasks.
- Administer medications in accordance with agency procedures and individualized care plans.
- Implement and follow individualized behavioral, dietary, medical, mobility, and support plans.
- Complete accurate documentation including communication logs, medication records, incident reports, and daily notes.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and document progress as required.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice, privacy, and respect for all individuals receiving services.
Overnight DSPs are a critical part of our Residential Services team, helping create stable and supportive living environments while ensuring individuals receive quality care around the clock.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting or assisting with up to 50 pounds, mobility support, and household responsibilities.
- Strong communication, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
