Lead with Heart. Grow with Purpose.

If you’ve already discovered the joy of helping others as a Direct Support Professional and are ready to take your next step in leadership, this is your opportunity to grow.

At LARC, our mission is to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live full, meaningful, and independent lives. As an Assistant House Manager, you’ll use your experience in direct care to support, guide, and empower your team to deliver the highest quality care and service possible.

This role combines leadership and hands-on support — giving you the chance to develop your supervisory skills while continuing to make a direct impact on the lives of the individuals you serve.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant House Manager, you’ll work closely with the House Manager to ensure the smooth, safe, and successful daily operation of the residential program.
This role combines hands-on direct care with team leadership — giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals while guiding and supporting your coworkers.

Schedule: This position requires flexibility to work 1st and 2nd shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays, to ensure consistent support and oversight of the home

Direct Care Responsibilities

You’ll provide compassionate, hands-on support to the individuals served, helping them live as independently and fully as possible. This includes:

  • Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Supporting individuals in maintaining personal health, safety, and comfort.
  • Encouraging independence and skill development through daily engagement.
  • Providing transportation to appointments, recreational activities, or community outings.
  • Promoting community integration through shopping, social events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of services, incidents, and progress notes.
  • Responding to emergencies calmly and professionally, ensuring safety and dignity for all involved.

Leadership Responsibilities

In addition to direct care, you’ll take on key supervisory and leadership responsibilities, including:

  • Mentoring and supporting staff to build confidence and competence in their roles.
  • Leading by example and modeling best practices in person-centered care, communication, and teamwork.
  • Assisting with interviewing, hiring, and training new employees to ensure they understand LARC’s mission and values.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; providing regular feedback and performance appraisals.
  • Addressing employee concerns and recognizing achievements, collaborating with the House Manager on corrective actions when needed.
  • Maintaining daily operations, ensuring the home is safe, organized, and welcoming.
  • Upholding quality standards by ensuring person-centered plans are followed, documentation is accurate, and goals are achieved.

You’ll balance leadership responsibilities with meaningful direct care — helping both staff and individuals thrive under your guidance.

Why You’ll Love Working at LARC

  • Incredible Health Insurance: No deductible on most services; employees pay as little as $15.19 per week!
  • Generous Paid Time Off: 3 weeks’ vacation in your first year.
  • Career Growth: Step confidently into leadership with guidance, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Meaningful Work: Lead a team that changes lives every day.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Full-time position with opportunities to balance direct care and administrative responsibilities.
