The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities. This role requires a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices. The technician must be able to travel to various work locations on demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings and structures to identify functional systems, malfunctions, and needed repairs.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance including replacement or repair of fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts,
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing hoses.
- Carry out minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work including surface preparation, painting, and hardware installation.
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep of facilities.
- Operate and maintain mechanical tools, paint equipment, and floor machines.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certificate from trade school or equivalent work experience in facilities or maintenance.
- Basic understanding of facility systems and maintenance procedures.
- Must have own transportation (truck) and a good driving record.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard powered and non-powered tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various work locations on demand.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
