The Arc of Cape May County is seeking to hire a Residential Supervisor to join our team.
The Arc of Cape May County is a non-profit agency serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Cape May County. We are supportive of their goals and assist with their needs. Our goal is to provide quality assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and to help them to become as independent as possible.
Qualifications - Associates Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, medical or other related field preferred; minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in a residential setting or an equivalent setting such as a nursing home, assisted living center, etc.
Residential Supervisors are responsible for the total operation and oversight of residential settings. This oversight includes the provision of programming, direct supports and supervision of individuals served according to their needs and individual plans, along with the general management of the residential settings to ensure environmental comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance. This position directly supervises the Direct Support Professionals. Residential Supervisors also support individuals with developmental disabilities in our residential settings by assisting with daily living skills, such as meal preparation, hygiene, home up-keep, medications, socialization, recreational activities, and learning new skills.
This position requires flexibility to work any shift based on program needs, but generally, the schedules are one 10am-6pm shift during the week, one weekend shift, and three 3pm-11pm shifts during the week.
Once you join our team, you'll have training sessions to gain skills in areas pertaining to developmental disabilities, medication dispensing, CPR/FA, crisis management, behavior support, documentation, and other job-related topics.
Associates Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, medical or other related field preferred; minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities in a residential setting or an equivalent setting such as a nursing home, assisted living center, etc. Must be able to complete pre-service classes and ongoing training as required by state licensure and agency procedures, including coursework and certification in First Aid, CPR, crisis management, behavior supports and other areas. A current driver's license valid in the state of New Jersey and driving record acceptable to insurance and regulatory requirements is required. Must be able to perform physical assistance, lifting 50 lbs. and intervention tasks according to the needs of the individuals served and assigned caseload, must be able to follow and use agency electronic data base and recordkeeping systems, must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule as assigned or established to ensure needs of the individuals are met and monitored, including on-call status.
