What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - Brookside School - Temporary position at The Arc Mid-Hudson?
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join an amazing team of dedicated professionals at our Brookside School in Cottekill.
This position will provide temporary coverage for a period of three to four months, starting at the beginning of the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Under the direction of the Director of Brookside School and the Clinical Coordinator, the Occupational Therapist (OT) is to provide evaluations and services as described in NYS Education Law and as recommended in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The OT will complete all necessary documentation regarding progress and recommendations for initial, continued, or additional services. The delivery of occupational therapy services requires a written prescription by a physician.
Experience working with pre-school and/or school-age children with disabilities is a plus.
SCHEDULE/HOURS: 32.5/Monday through Friday - 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
STARTING SALARY: $ 53,716.07 to $ 59,087.68 per week
Minimum Requirements:
- NYS license in Occupational Therapy.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to articulate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with all internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Experience with both preschool and school-age children with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Computer experience including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
