Director Opportunity – Lead Philanthropy & Fundraising at Lexington

The Arc Lexington seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to lead and grow our fundraising efforts to support the Lexington Foundation.

This is an opportunity to advance the mission and long-term sustainability of one of New York's most respected human services organizations, serving more than 1,300 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and supported by 1,600 dedicated staff. Through strategic fundraising and authentic relationship-building, this role helps ensure that Lexington's mission continues to thrive for generations to come.

As the Director of Development, you will:

  • Provide vision, leadership, and execution for Lexington's comprehensive fundraising strategy
  • Lead major gifts, annual campaigns, corporate sponsorships, grant proposals, and special events
  • Cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and board members
  • Drive philanthropic growth that strengthens programs, services, and long-term impact
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and the Lexington Foundation to advance strategic priorities

  • Someone passionate about human services and advancing opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Qualifications include:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Nonprofit Management, and 5–7 years of progressive experience in fundraising or development, ideally within the nonprofit sector. Demonstrated success in major gifts, grant writing and management, corporate sponsorships, annual campaigns, and special events is required. Candidates must possess strong computer skills, a valid New York State driver's license, and the ability to travel throughout Albany, Fulton, and Schoharie counties.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
