Janitor - LPOE Massena

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work –

Part-time up to 30 hours per week, including some weekends and holiday work, depending on needs related to the contract.

This position will work Tuesday, Thursday, and Alternating Saturday and Sundays from 6:30am-3pm. Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial work preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty. Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time. Must provide your own transportation to work. Must be able to read and identify SDS sheets and various chemical labels and markings. Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies. Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light and heavy custodial equipment.

Summary/Objective

• Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain work areas as assigned.

Use carpet cleaning equipment as assigned. Trash removal. Sweep/mop/dust/vacuum as assigned. Wet mop. Perform restroom disinfectant and cleaning as assigned. Perform floor stripping and waxing applications. Wash windows. Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor. Practice “Safety First”. Competencies –
