Direct Support Professional – Residential Services

Join The Arc Columbia-Saratoga, formerly Coarc (Columbia County Arc), as a Direct Support Professional and help empower people we support with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. In our Residential Services program, you’ll provide person-centered support in a home environment, helping people we support build independence, develop life skills, and actively participate in their communities.
Position Details
Locations: Hudson, Chatham, Germantown, Ghent, Stuyvesant, Taghkanic, and Valatie, NY
Pay Rate: $19.00–$20.00 per hour (based on program site)
Weekend Differential: $2.00 per hour for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
Schedule Options
We offer a variety of schedules to fit both the needs of the people we support and our employees. Typical schedules include:
- Afternoon and evening shifts (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
- Midday shifts (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
- Extended weekend shifts (such as 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM), which may allow for a four-day workweek
Most positions include working at least one weekend day, with some positions requiring both Saturday and Sunday. Specific schedules will be discussed during the interview process.

- Support people we support in making choices and decisions that promote independence and self-advocacy.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household responsibilities.
- Encourage participation in community activities, recreational opportunities, and meaningful relationships.
- Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered supports while fostering a safe and welcoming home environment.
- Assist people we support in developing life skills and achieving their personal goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members.
- Follow all agency policies, required training, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.
