Title: LITIGATION ASSOCIATE
Salary: $100,000.00 per year
Job description:
A small but growing small general practice firm is seeking a motivated attorney for a junior litigation associate position. If you have not at least taken trial advocacy or competed in mock trials in law school, please do not apply as you will not be considered. Ideal candidate will have 0-2 years’ experience in litigation generally as well as one or more of the following areas:
- Civil/commercial Litigation
- Real Estate
- Family Law
- Probate
- Wills, Trusts and Estates
Qualified candidates should also meet the following guidelines:
- Admitted to the Illinois Bar and the Northern District of Illinois (recent graduates taking the bar this year will also be considered)
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit – able to manage and handle his or her own files from start to finish
- Able to easily commute to north suburban Chicago
- Brief writing, discovery drafting and answering, taking depositions, and handling a case from beginning to end (or equivalent moot court/mock trial experience) a plus
- Excellent computer (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe PDF), drafting, online research, written grammar and communication skills
- Ability to comfortably communicate with clients
- Work in office preferred; some remote work possible
