What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist position at The Annex?
Summary:
The Therapist provides direct therapeutic services for clients enrolled in The Annex’s PHP, IOP and OP programs, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote healing, recovery, and improved mental health outcomes. Therapists engage in individual, family, and group counseling; participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning; and provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Unless otherwise agreed upon, this position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide mentorship to interns or new staff under direction from the Clinical Director.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and create treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
- Maintain clinical documentation in EMR system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
- Maintain effective and continuity of care by collaborating with referents and external professionals through consistent, timely, confidential and high-quality communication that upholds The Annex's standard of excellence.
- When clinically appropriate and with proper consent, communicate with family and loved ones following The Annex’s communication protocols.
- Conduct crisis interventions and develop safety plans.
- Maintain licensure and attend professional development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, etc.).
- Strong clinical assessment, intervention, and documentation skills.
- Crisis intervention proficiency.
- Ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.
- Cultural competence and client advocacy.
- Proficiency in EMR use and clinical note writing.
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology.
- Current Texas licensure (PhD, LPC, LMSW/LCSW, LMFT, or Associate).
- 2 years clinical experience preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification, TB clearance, and valid Texas Driver’s License required.
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
