Our goal is to ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive recovery environment for each patient while assisting the veterinary team with ongoing assessments and care. As a an overnight technician you would be responsible for the following when it comes to our ANC patients:
Seizure Management:
- Continuous observation for seizure activity, duration, and frequency
- Administration of prescribed anticonvulsant medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitoring vital signs and neurological status
- Ensuring a calm, low-stimulation environment to reduce triggers
- Assisting in emergency stabilization if active seizures occur
- Recording and reporting all seizure events and changes in behavior
Post-Operative Recovery (e.g., neck pain, mobility issues):
- Monitoring vital signs and pain levels during recovery
- Administering pain management and other prescribed medications
- Assisting with mobility support (slings, carts, or other aids as needed)
- Helping patients with bladder and bowel expression if needed
- Providing comfort care and maintaining proper body positioning to prevent pressure sores

This position plays a vital role in delivering exceptional overnight care for hospitalized and emergency neurology patients. Key Responsibilities
- This is a highly patient-focused position, ideal for technicians who value quality over quantity in their care. Our techs typically work closely with only two to three patients at a time, allowing for meaningful one-on-one interaction and attentive, individualized care. You'll have the opportunity to build strong connections with your patients, play a vital role in their recovery, and contribute directly to their comfort and well-being throughout their stay. If you’re passionate about hands-on, compassionate care, this is the role for you.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and maintain accurate patient records
- Respond to urgent patient needs and communicate effectively with doctors and on-call staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area
- Provide compassionate support to patients and communicate updates to clients as directed
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in Missouri
- Previous experience in emergency, critical care, or specialty medicine preferred
- Strong technical skills, including IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient triage
- Compassionate, team-oriented mindset
Schedule
- As needed for now,(on call basis) with the possibility of more hours by the Fall of 2026
