We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Technician. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our veterinary team, assisting with a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Check patient medical records for past histories, entering information into the computer and maintaining accurate files.
- Taking medical histories and vital signs of patients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintaining client educational material in an efficient manner, providing valuable resources to our clients.
- Performing departmental housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.
- Admitting and discharging patients, handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Taking, processing, and logging prescription refills, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
- Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs, providing critical support to our veterinary team.
- Administering medications to patients as needed, following established protocols.
- Placing catheters and performing blood draws, requiring skill and precision.
- Assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures, providing essential support.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods, and adapt to changing situations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered Veterinary Technicians in Kansas are preferred but not required; we are open to training the right candidate.
