What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host Manager position at The Animal Farm Restaurant?
Overview
We are looking for a host manager for our Animal Farm team. This is a new position for us that is designed to manage the door and reservations to our standards, train all new host hires, handle large party requests, and communicate with all of our guests in the warm manner that we have become known for.
Duties
- Supervise and motivate host/hostess staff to deliver outstanding guest experiences with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Manage reservation platform, to optimize seating flow and reduce wait times
- Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless communication and efficient table turnover
- Uphold excellent phone etiquette when handling reservations, inquiries, or guest concerns via phone or online channels
- Oversee guest relations by addressing concerns promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction, and fostering a welcoming environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand, lobby area, and waiting zones to reflect high standards of hospitality
- Train new team members on service protocols, POS systems, and customer service expectations
Experience
- Prior host/hostess experience in a fast-paced food service or restaurant setting is highly preferred
- Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Experience working with reservation software.
- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in guest services and guest relations
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining positive interactions with guests and team members
- Knowledge of serving protocols, hotel operations, or guest services enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Exceptional phone etiquette skills combined with a passion for hospitality will help you excel as a Host Manager
