Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced (2 Years) Veterinary Assistant to join our team, with the intent for this individual to train into a long-term role and assume responsibilities currently held by a team member.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, emotionally mature, and motivated to grow. Applicants must have hands-on experience in animal restraint, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a structured environment, communicates respectfully, accepts feedback professionally, and approaches their work with humility and purpose.
Schedule
- Days: Monday–Friday
- Shifts:
- Morning: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Hours: 30 hours per week
- Scheduling: Shifts will vary week to week based on clinic needs
- Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM (fully protected and uninterrupted)
- Weekends & On-Call: None
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and confidently restrain dogs and cats for exams, diagnostics, and treatments
- Assist with surgical and dental procedures, including anesthesia preparation and monitoring
- Administer treatments and medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Support patient care, diagnostics, and medical record accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
- Provide attentive care to hospitalized and boarding patients
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with clients and team members
- Follow established protocols and accept feedback with professionalism and accountability
Qualifications
- Veterinary assistant experience required
- Proficiency in animal restraint required
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement experience required
- Calm, confident, and compassionate patient handling skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and emotionally mature
- Comfortable taking direction and adapting to structured feedback
- Committed to high standards of patient care and continuous learning
