The Anderson Search group has been engaged by a highly respected, relationship-focused regional bank to identify a Wealth Advisor for its growing Wealth Management division in Birmingham, Alabama.
This is a unique opportunity to join an established and expanding wealth platform while inheriting a substantial existing book of business (approximately $300MM in client assets). Rather than building a practice from scratch, the successful advisor will step into a well-established portfolio of affluent client relationships while continuing to grow the market through referrals, internal partnerships, and business development.

Position Summary
The Wealth Advisor is responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of high-net-worth client relationships by delivering holistic wealth management solutions that include investment management, financial planning, retirement planning, trust and estate coordination, and private banking collaboration.
This individual will partner closely with Commercial Bankers, Private Bankers, Trust Officers, and other internal business partners to deepen client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional assets under management and broader banking relationships.
Success in this role requires both technical investment expertise and outstanding emotional intelligence, allowing the advisor to build long-term trusted relationships while delivering an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume primary relationship management responsibility for an established book of affluent client relationships totaling approximately $300MM in assets under management.
- Develop trusted advisory relationships through proactive communication, regular portfolio reviews, and comprehensive financial planning.
- Deliver customized investment strategies aligned with each client's financial objectives, risk tolerance, and long-term goals.
- Conduct ongoing portfolio reviews and recommend investment adjustments based on changing market conditions and client circumstances.
- Collaborate with Wealth Portfolio Managers, Trust Officers, Commercial Bankers, Private Bankers, and Financial Planners to provide integrated wealth management solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through trust services, private banking, treasury management, lending, and additional investment assets.
- Develop new business through referrals, centers of influence, networking, and internal bank partnerships.
- Represent the Wealth Management division within the community through professional networking and business development activities.
- Maintain the highest standards of fiduciary responsibility, professionalism, and client confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal investment policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience as a Wealth Advisor, Financial Advisor, Private Banker, or similar client-facing wealth management role.
- Demonstrated success managing affluent and high-net-worth client relationships.
- Strong investment management and portfolio review experience.
- Comprehensive financial planning knowledge, including retirement, estate, tax-aware investing, and wealth transfer planning.
- Experience partnering with internal business partners such as Commercial Bankers, Private Bankers, Trust Officers, and Financial Planners.
- Proven ability to build long-term client relationships and generate new business through referrals and relationship development.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and fiduciary mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFP®, CFA®, CPWA®, CIMA®, CTFA®, or other advanced wealth management designation.
- Experience working within a bank-based wealth management platform.
- Established history of managing complex, high-net-worth client relationships.
- Business development experience through centers of influence, professional referrals, and community involvement.
