This position will be a combined producer role to support productions under Nova Entertainment. Nova is the creative business behind The Novas, Adam and RJ, who have established their creative work through the success of the podcast “Boys Love Boys Love” with The Ampliverse. Role Description
The Assistant Producer will support the lead Producer for the upcoming productions: You Eat So Well! (December 2025 - January 2026, production in Chicago and San Francisco), Eat Cute (January - March 2026 release of upcoming web series), and Hail Mary/Maria (January - August 2026 theatrical production in Chicago). The Assistant Producer will help the Lead Producer for these projects in their tasks and responsibilities. Commitment will be 8-12 hours/month starting December 2025 on a monthly basis, with potential scaling up during production months @ $17/hour. Also open to per-production commitments based on schedules.
Qualifications
- A creative professional looking for producing experience
- Have a passion for storytelling in various forms–theatre, film, web series, and more
- Task-oriented and is able to be self reliant in following up tasks and correspondences assigned to them
- Good at researching for the creative team for new ideas and proejcts
- Collaborative and communicative to their lead Producers, as well as vendors and other artists they may interact with
- Efficient in running meetings, action items, and notes
- Comfortable working with Google Drive, Zoom, Canva
- Quick learned to new software and tools
- A problem solver
- Chicago-based and able to drive or commute throughout the city as needed
Responsibilities
- Scheduling: meetings, check-ins, etc.
- Emails and communications as needed to team members and vendors
- Timeline management for projects
- Contracts: assisting lead Producer to edit, revise, and approve contracts
- PR/social/publicity correspondence for projects
- Sending inquiries to brands, artists, and vendors
- Pitch and brainstorm facilitation for future projects
- Launch support production needs as they come up, for example:
- Oops, can someone run and print extra scripts?
- Uh oh! Can you grab extra HDMIs and aux cords?
