The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) is seeking a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented Programs & Marketing Assistant to support the daily operations of several national educational programs while helping expand their visibility through strategic marketing initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with creative marketing projects. The successful candidate will work with the Executive Director and program staff to ensure the smooth operation of AATSP programs while increasing member engagement and program participation.
Primary Responsibilities
Program Administration
- Assist with the daily administration of AATSP educational programs.
- Process registrations, applications, and participant records.
- Respond to member inquiries via email and phone in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate databases and program documentation.
- Coordinate program timelines and assist with project management.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
- Provide logistical support for conferences, meetings, and special events.
- Assist with data collection and program assessment.
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and schedule content for social media platforms.
- Create marketing materials including flyers, brochures, graphics, and promotional emails.
- Assist with website updates and digital content management.
- Support email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
- Help develop strategies to increase participation in AATSP programs.
- Monitor marketing analytics and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate promotional efforts for conferences, contests, scholarships, and membership initiatives.
- Maintain consistent branding across all communications.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience in marketing, communications, or program administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with social media management.
- Spanish proficiency (minimally intermediate)
Preferred
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite and Ads
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact).
- Experience updating websites using a content management system.
- Basic graphic design skills.
- Ability to travel 5-10%
