Position Overview

The Security Administrator/Visitor Control (SA/VC) I provides security visitor control and program security administration, including personnel and information security functions as needed. Reporting to the Chief of Security, the position supports entry and circulation control, visitor assistance, and other administrative duties. The position may also serve as a Cleared American Guard (CAG) / Cleared Escort to provide perimeter and internal access control, secure storage area control, and personnel or material escort within controlled construction areas.

Key ResponsibilitiesVisitor Control and Access Management

• Check identification for all visitors and ensure they are sponsored and properly cleared through DISS or a local database.
• Determine visitors' need to enter the building, log visitors, issue visitor badges, and notify hosts of visitor arrivals.
• Check assigned personnel and ensure they have and display authorized access badges.
• Screen all non-cleared workers, vehicles, and equipment entering or exiting the project site.
• Provide perimeter and internal access control and escort personnel or materials within controlled construction areas, as assigned.
• Follow and enforce customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  
  

Security and Prohibited Items Control

• Ensure visitors do not introduce prohibited items, including cell phones, pagers, jump drives, PDAs, explosives, weapons, electronic devices, or other items specified by the Accrediting Official (AO) or designee.
• Perform and/or assist government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items.
• Conduct random inspections of all site areas to ensure prohibited materials have not been brought onto the site.
• Bring suspicious materials or incidents to the attention of the Site Security Manager (SSM) or Construction Surveillance Technician (CST).
• Conduct inspections of materials delivered for use in the construction of secure spaces and document findings.
  
  

Emergency Procedures

• Perform emergency procedures for bomb threats, active shooters, force protection, Anti-Terrorism, fire evacuations, and other emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedure checklists.
  
  

Secure Storage and Construction Site Security

• Maintain control of and operate the Secure Storage Area (SSA) established by the assigned construction company within the construction site footprint for construction materials and equipment used for the project.
• Control secure storage areas.
• Perform Cleared American Guard (CAG) / Cleared Escort duties, as assigned.
  
  

Administrative and Security Support

• Assist with personnel, information, program security, and entry control functions.
• Receive packages from outside agencies, including UPS and FedEx, and distribute them in accordance with facility SOPs.
• Account for all logs, instructions, equipment, and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday.
• Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or Senior Security Representative.
  
  

QualificationsEducation

• 1–2 years of related experience [Required]
  
  

Clearance

• Must have at least a Secret Clearance to start and be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI/SAP eligibility [Required]
  
  

Preferred QualificationsExperience

• Prior experience in special program security work is highly preferred.
