Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Accountant with Yardi experience to support our growing portfolio following several recent acquisitions. This is a newly created role due to expansion.
You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and play a key role in full-cycle accounting, with a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle accounting using Yardi
- Heavy Accounts Payable (AP) processing and oversight
- Assist with:
- Journal entries (JEs)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General ledger (GL) support
- Pre-financial analysis and reconciliations
- Ensure timely payments to avoid late fees (monthly deadlines)
- Monitor compliance items (insurance, licenses, etc.)
- Support financial reporting, including affordable housing (LIHTC) reporting
- Collaborate with internal team (Accounting Manager, lease administration, AP support)
- Identify efficiencies and leverage technology/automation tools
Qualifications
- Required: Experience with Yardi (must be able to hit the ground running)
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (property accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of the AP cycle
- Experience with GL, reconciliations, and financial prep
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with spreadsheets/automation
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
