AP/AR Accounting Specialist

We are currently seeking an AP/AR Accounting Specialist to join a well-established, privately held construction and infrastructure organization in the Denver area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering exposure to both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

The organization is a mid-sized construction firm with approximately $50M in annual revenue and a strong regional reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and infrastructure projects. With continued growth and increased project volume, the accounting team is expanding to add a detail-oriented professional who can support core transactional accounting functions and contribute to overall financial accuracy and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative, close-knit team where accounting plays a highly visible and operationally connected role.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on accounting environment and wants to build long-term experience within a stable and growing organization. High-performing individuals will also have the opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payment of obligations
• Manage customer billing and support collections activities
• Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts to ensure accuracy
• Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
• Partner with project managers and operations teams regarding job-cost and financial questions
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
• Support additional accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• Prior experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting support
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Experience in construction, real estate, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industries strongly preferred
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel (Sage Intacct is highly preferred)
