What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant position at The Aligned Leader?
Picayune Physical Therapist Assistant: Want a clinic that treats you like a teammate, not a number?
Southern Physical Therapy Clinic is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Picayune, MS team, starting as maternity-leave coverage with a real potential to become permanent. If you want solid mentorship, a voice on the team, and a clinic that invests in you, this is worth a conversation.
About Southern Physical Therapy Clinic
Southern is an outpatient private practice founded in 2019 with two locations, Picayune, MS and Slidell, LA, and about 25 team members. We treat patients across the lifespan under one roof with three disciplines: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. We believe good care starts with a team that actually likes working together.
About the Role
- Step in to cover a teammate’s maternity leave beginning around October 2026
- Treat an outpatient caseload under PT direction, primarily adult ortho/neuro; pediatrics is a welcome bonus if you enjoy it
- Work alongside OT and Speech colleagues under one roof, not in a silo
- This begins as a defined coverage window with a real, honest shot at becoming a permanent role if it’s a fit on both sides
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality care following PT-established plans of care
- Help carry a typical full-time caseload of ~50–55 visits per week once fully ramped
- Communicate closely with supervising PTs about progress, plans, and patient goals
- Contribute to a culture that talks directly (not about), and holds each other to a high standard from a place of support
What You’ll Get
Compensation:
- $25–$35/hour, depending on experience
- Production bonus opportunity once you’re consistently at a higher caseload (around 60 visits/week), never required
Schedule & Lifestyle:
- 20–40 hours/week (leaning full-time), based in Picayune
- Optional, never required, split at our Slidell clinic
- On-site only, no remote days
Growth & Mentorship:
- 12‑month new‑grad mentorship program
- 6‑month leadership development track
- Opportunities to take on lead PTA / training responsibilities over time
- Unlimited CEU and certification reimbursement
Culture & Benefits:

- Real team relationships, not just coworkers
- Full benefits: health, retirement, disability, life insurance
- 8 paid holidays, PTO starting at 2 weeks and rising to 3
- CEU and license reimbursement
Who This Is For
- You choose gratitude and optimism, even on hard days, and find real joy in serving people
- You want to be part of a team, not just show up and leave

- You want something purely convenient and easy with minimal investment in the team
