What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at The Alaska Club?
The Alaska Club is seeking temporary painters (3-4 months). The right applicant for this position will have basic knowledge of painting and a willingness to learn new skills. They must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.

- examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
- make on-site preparations such as covering carpet and fixtures
- prepare walls and other surfaces for painting
- fill cracks and holes with appropriate material
- mix paint to prepare the right color or texture
- paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- apply varnish and other finishes
- take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
- work independently and in a team environment
- experience as a painter (preferred, not required)
- knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix, and apply them
- solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
- aptitude in using appropriate tools
- good basic math skills
- manual dexterity and balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
- ability to take direction and follow a plan
- work as part of team while maintaining professionalism
- conscientious with great attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand and bend up to 8 hours in hot/cold and wet environments
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
