Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook food items with precision, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and mixers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient prep to streamline kitchen operations
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality in all meal preparations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and service times
Experience
- Previous experience in a food service environment, such as restaurants or catering settings, is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices
- Ability to adhere strictly to recipes while maintaining efficiency during busy periods
