Senior Information Technology (IT) & Cybersecurity Specialist (Network Infrastructure)

Lead the architectural design, operational integrity, and advanced security of high-consequence Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) environments. In this senior role, you will manage complex networked systems transmitting voice, data, and video, while enforcing rigorous cybersecurity protocols across Unclassified, Collateral, Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) enclaves.

What you will accomplish:

- High-Consequence Security Mission: Direct critical information systems security within a special program office, safeguarding systems that defend national security.

- Next-Gen Network Command: Own the end-to-end lifecycle-from strategic planning and acquisition to design, deployment, and testing-of robust network architectures.

- Multi-Enclave Exposure: Build, defend, and maintain networks operating across the entire classification spectrum, including the military's most restricted enclaves.

- Network Lifecycle Management: Plan, analyze, design, and manage the LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure absolute operational integrity and high availability.

- Advanced Cybersecurity Operations: Execute Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements to secure networks across Unclassified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Collateral, SAP, and SCI environments.

- Comprehensive Cyber Defense: Support the Cyber Section across strategic areas, including network defense, vulnerability management, software assurance, and cyber resiliency.

- System Integration & Quality Assurance (QA): Install, integrate, and conduct quality assurance testing on advanced communication systems transmitting multi-format voice, data, and video signals.

- A seasoned network engineer with a proven track record of designing, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade LAN/WAN infrastructures.

- A cybersecurity authority deeply familiar with the RMF and experienced in securing highly restricted military enclaves (SAP/SCI).

- A vulnerability and defense expert skilled at identifying system weaknesses, managing network configurations, and implementing resilient security controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

- May require work to be performed during hours outside the normal duty schedule

- Obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance for the position as well as meet all program access requirements

- Designated Drug Testing Position

- Obtain and maintain a Cyberspace qualification

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of IT assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing IT projects and resources, monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, operation, and maintenance.

2. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of IT programs to include providing oversight of multiple IT projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities such as life cycle management and program governance.

3. Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches. Ability to research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs.

4. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and techniques used to identify, engage, influence and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to IT work/development efforts. Includes those who are actively involved, those who exert influence over the process and its results, and those who have a vested interest in the outcome. Ability to work effectively with customers to assess their requirements then provide information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs.

5. Knowledge of organizational mission and function and how to work effectively within its social, political, and technological systems to achieve measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Ability to determine objectives, make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions, set priorities, cause change, and accomplish organizational goals.

6. Ability to analyze complexities of existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
