What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon Receptionist position at The Agnes Irwin School?
Position Purpose:
To promote a positive image of the School while serving as the first point of contact for visitors to campus and individuals contacting the School by phone. to assist in the receiving and delivering of mail and packages to various buildings on campus; to serve as liaison between parents and Middle School After School Study proctors during afternoon pick-up
Hours:
Monday - Friday; 3:00pm - 6:30pm during the academic year
Essential Functions:
- Greet and assist visitors, staff and students in a professional and timely manner
- Serve as liaison between parents and Middle School After School Study proctors during afternoon pick up
- Ensure visitors receive and display proper identification while on campus
- Operate the school’s multi-line phone system; direct calls to the appropriate party, take messages and provide information and assistance to callers
- Receive and deliver packages and mail to various buildings on campus
- Assist in the collection and delivery of various items left for students at the Front Desk
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of six months related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Some college preferred
- Excellent customer service skills required; ability to communicate effectively with various constituents
- Demonstrated competency with basic internet and word processing spreadsheet applications
